What’s in the ASI budget?

Associated Students, Inc. is the recognized student government at Fresno State.  Each semester, students pay several fees, one of which is the Student Body Fee of $34.50. For the 2012-2013 academic year, ASI is projecting to have a total budget of $624,490.00.

Many campus issues at stake

At ASI Senate meetings every other Wednesday, the Senate hears student concerns in two forums: Public Comment and Campus Issues.  Public Comment is a time when students can share their sentiment about anything happening in ASI or on campus with ASI, and Campus Issues is a time to report physical problems you see around campus,  such as pot holes, lighting issues, etc.

Crime in neighborhoods around campus has sparked the development of a coalition to clean up and improve neighborhoods in the vicinity. Revitalization efforts have risen before, but this year Fresno State students, Fresno City Council member Larry Westerland, and both Fresno and University police have joined the cause.
