A democracy heavily depends on the information given by journalists, which has given the media the responsibility to overlook our system of government and our society.

Fresno State’s Associated Students, Inc. senate decided that no action will be taken against President Pedro Ramirez or Vice President of Finance Cesar Sanchez regarding the accusations that had been leveled at them.

I’m not sure anyone ever really grows up. Although we get older, grow taller and become wiser each year, it seems that we never really grow out of that adolescent need for approval. As the semester comes to an end, and Associated Students, Inc. holds its last Senate meeting of the spring, my theory has never held more truth — you can take the person out of high school but you can’t take high school out of the person.

It seems easy for bystanders to say, “Pedro should resign” as the semester continues to wind down in weeks. Some may think it would be best for the new president elect and current vice president, Selena Farnesi to take her position early to put “focus” back into the student body. By doing this, Ramirez can have a “normal” life again and move on.

The Personnel Committee of the Fresno State Associated Students, Inc. senate met Monday night to vote on allegations against ASI President Pedro Ramirez and two other members of the executive committee.

At Monday’s ASI meeting, a crowd gathered in McLane Hall room 162 to hear the fate of Pedro Ramirez’s presidency. Assemblyman Tim Donnelly was also in attendance and expressed his feelings toward the situation.
