Excitement was in the air as Fresno and Clovis residents young and old camped out in front of Buffalo Wild Wings for the highly anticipated grand-opening of the restaurant.

With the donation boxes placed throughout the campus collected, the Social Work Students Association put on their valley wide clothing drive for the homeless last Saturday in downtown Fresno.

Signs posted outside the University Center may read that the Taco Bell Express remodel should’ve been completed last month, but changes in construction plans have left the building unchanged.

A formal kickoff for the “Give a Gobbler” campaign at Fresno State will be held at the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market on campus at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, with a goal to donate 200 turkeys to two local organizations. Donors can purchase a 20 to 25 pound frozen turkey for $25 at the student-operated store located on Chestnut Ave. at Barstow Ave.

Despite personal financial hardships and a crippled economy where good causes would seem to suffer, the Bulldog Pantry defies its circumstances and has not only sustained its backing over the summer, but has dramatically grown.

The Madden Library which re-opened in early 2009, is adopting new policies this semester regarding food and noise. But for new and returning students, no need to worry. There are no merciless librarians standing at the entrance who put their index finger to their lips and hold trash bins up for people to throw out their barely eaten lunches before entering.

Out with the old, in with the new.

The Henry Madden Library has some new additions this semester, in addition to the new food policy recently introduced. New furniture was delivered to the building over the summer to give students a place of comfort.
