Fresno State polished off the 3-game homestand with a win over the Cal State San Marcos Cougars Wednesday. The ‘Dogs played a physical game and dominated the boards helping them to a 4-4 home record this season.
Tensions rose throughout the game due to former Bulldog Tim Steed’s return to the Save Mart Center. The ‘Dogs had no game plan when it came to preparing for the Cougars’ big guard.
Kevin Olekaibe came alive in the second half scoring 8 of his 14 total points after a slow first half. Coming off a career-high 30-point game Saturday, the fan favorite guard was less of a factor against the Cougars draining only 8 of his 27 shots from the floor.
The ‘Dogs were flat in the first half but came out stroking in the second half outscoring the Cougars 40-29. What led the ‘Dogs to the nonconference win was a surprising performance from guard Jerry Brown.

The walkout was held at the free speech area and speakers discussed what the Occupy Fresno movement is and how it concerns students, as well as how they can get involved.
After 15 years, the Pat Hill era has ended. The decision came after Fresno State finished the season with a 4-9 record, which is the worst since 2006. The ‘Dogs lost against San Diego State 35-28 to end a disappointing season after last season’s 8-5 year. The search for a new head coach will take place immediately with National Signing Day coming in February.
Fresno State played the first game of it’s current three-game Pac-12 stretch. The Bulldogs held the Utes to 35 percent shooting in the game and in all their wins they have allowed on 52 pts per game.The Bulldogs would go on to win 82-52 to get to 4-4 on this season.
