Don Simmons is an adjunct professor at Fresno State in the Social Science department. He helped to develop the Lowell Community Development Corporation and currently has a home in the area. His house won the Mayor’s Historic Preservation Award in 2010.

Former Fresno State Professor and 18th Poet Laureate of the United States Philip Levine recites poetry at the Tower Theater. Former Fresno State Professor Peter Everwine also recited poetry. The Benjamin Boone Quartet performed several original Jazz pieces.
Midnight Dance Fusion class surprises campus with flash mob
Dozens of students from the Midnight Dance Fusion class at Fresno State surprised a large audience in the Free Speech Area with a flash mob around noon on Wednesday. The dance group’s goal is to provide a fun way to exercise and socialize at the Fresno State Recreation Center. Collegian photographer Dalton Runberg caught the event on campus.
