A Conversation With Sandra Cisneros: Audio Gallery

People came from all over the Valley Friday to listen to a lecture and reading from distinguished American author Sandra Cisneros at Fresno State. The Collegian covered both the early discussion and the late-night reading, which drew in more than 500 people at the Satellite Student Union.

Cotton Weaving

Cotton Circles is a collaborative art project organized by Margarita Cabrera. She has brought Monica Nambo, an artist from Oaxaca, Mexico to teach volunteers traditional weaving techniques.

 
 

Veterans Day Commemoration 2011, Honoring all Veterans

On Nov. 10 Fresno State’s Student Veterans Organization and Omega Delta Sigma organized and sponsored a Veterans Day Commemoration at Fresno State’s Memorial Court.

Several veterans, including Mr. William Dietzel, spoke to a crowd that included soldiers and the community.

ASI and USU also revealed the plan for future modifications to the fountain area.

Race for the Cure 2011 [soundslide]

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was held at Fresno State Saturday October 29.

The Race began early Saturday morning when cancer survivors, friends and family raced to support the fight against breast cancer.

 
 

Pumpkin carving workshop

Tracy Newel presented a workshop to show the many different ways to carve a pumpkin. She took on a different perspective, rather than the common Jack-0-Lantern. Business Management student Lisandra Reyna, Academic Advisor Janene Avedisian and Graduate Student Jessica Medina brought in their pumpkins to learn new ideas on pumpkin carving.
