‘Dogs split series with UC Riverside

Fresno State bounced back after losing for the first time in six games to split the rain-shortened two-game series with the UC Riverside Highlanders this weekend.

Fresno State will put its five-game winning streak on the line against the UC Riverside Highlanders (6-9) today at 6:05 p.m. The three-game series will continue Saturday, also set for 6:05 p.m., and Sunday’s game will be at 2:05 p.m.

 
 

‘Dogs down Bakersfield despite wet weather

Rain was the only thing that stopped the Bulldog pitching staff, as it allowed one run in two games to win the weekend series against Cal State Bakersfield. Fresno State climbed back climbed back to one game above .500 with the wins.

 
 

The Battle of the 99

The Fresno State baseball team is set to avenge an early season loss to CSU Bakersfield in this weekend’s three-game series that begins today at Beiden Field. The Roadrunners (7-9) shut out the ‘Dogs (8-9), 4-0 back on Feb. 22 and are currently 8-8 all time against the team whose program began in 2009.

 
 

Wise hits two home runs as Dogs split series

The Fresno State baseball team took the first two games of its four-game series with the Dons before dropping the final two. Bulldogs now sit at 7-9 on the season and 13 of their next 14 game are at home.

 
 

‘Dogs to face ranked opponents

The Fresno State Bulldogs will host the annual Bayer CropScience Classic beginning today. The ‘Dogs enter the tournament 1-1 against ranked teams and will face two over the weekend against unbeaten California, the No.1 team in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and No. 2 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I softball poll.

 
 

Cardinal too much for Bulldogs

The Fresno State Diamond ‘Dogs took the reigns of the opening game of a three-game series on Friday and did something no other team has done this season — take down the top-ranked Stanford Cardinal — by a score of 7-4. The ‘Dogs, however, were then subsequently beaten back by the Cardinal, losing the final two games of the series, 16-0 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday.

 
 

Just out of reach

It took 55 minutes, 32 lead changes, 19 tied scores and 52 fouls in Saturday’s men’s basketball game to finally declare a winner. The Bulldogs fell just short against the Wolf Pack, 79-76 in triple overtime. It was the Bulldogs’ fourth triple-overtime game in team history.
