Fresno State is going to have to pay an additional $2.5 million in the Stacy Johnson-Klein case, a judge ruled Monday.
The money pays for Johnson-Klein’s attorney fees, and comes on top of the $6.6 million awarded to Johnson-Klein in February. The attorneys had requested $2.9 million, but the judge reduced that amount.

CSU officials are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore. They want students to stop taking it, too.

In this case, “it” refers to the $386.1 million in proposed cuts to the California State University system.

With only eight of 30 sites counted as of press time, Kids Day volunteers had raised $400,000 in donations for Children’s Hospital Central California, already surpassing this year’s sales goal of $375,000, said Micheline Golden, spokeperson for the hospital.

Amongst talk of budget cuts and reduced financial aid, one California program is offering as much as $19,000 to students who want to become teachers.

The Stacy Johnson-Klein case is unlikely to be resolved through a settlement any time soon, according to Warren Paboojian, Johnson-Klein’s lawyer.
Fresno State filed an additional appeal last Wednesday, asking that the $6.6 million award be reduced to $2.9 million. Fresno State also asked for a new trial.
