Hit the road Mackin, don’t ya come back
Lone drafted Bulldog heads to Cincinnati
Jim:
Former Fresno State defensive tackle Jason Shirley may have been the lone bright spot in the NFL Draft for Fresno State, but he is not destined to be in a positive light any time soon
New sport? La-crosse me out
The spring semester marks a time of renewal for many. It spurns new beginnings along with fresh starts.
For our university’s athletic department it means the announcement of two new women’s sports: swimming/diving and lacrosse.
Can’t have one without the other
Kim: Nothing completes a sporting event like what you eat and drink while watching the game.
For me, certain foods go with certain sports (mainly because of the limited choices they give you).
When I visit Dodger Stadium, I have the traditional Dodger Dog to complete my experience.
The times that I decided to save my $4.50 and opted for my own peanuts were fun, but not the same.
Recognition is due
Kim: Most athletic teams on campus that are not football or basketball get recognition only if they do well. Sometimes, even if the team isn’t on a winning streak, players garner recognition by being the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) player of the week or breaking school records.
A team such as the volleyball team, now 5-19 overall, recently added a name to the record book. Women’s soccer earned WAC honors this week, too.
Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog
Kim:
The excitement that comes with graduating is great. No more papers and no more parking problems. Unfortunately, this means time to step into the real world.
For some Bulldog athletes, this step is more like a little hop, going from one playing field to another.
Bulldogs following Broncos?
Jim: BCS Conference Champion Fresno State…sounds a bit odd doesn’t it?
With Boise State’s possible departure from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) looming ahead, questions can be raised as to whether or not the Bulldogs should change conferences.
Time to step up
Jim:
With a two-game skid going into Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play, many Fresno State football fans feel as if this season is headed down the same path as last year.
