Bulldogs

The Bulldogs are nowhere near being the team that defeated nationally ranked BYU and Texas Tech earlier this season.

Since that time, Fresno State has been incredibly inconsistent in all aspects of the game, especially on the road.

It’s no secret that the offensive weapons are limited to two players in Chantella Perera and Tierre Wilson. Fresno State coach Adrian Wiggins surely would love to see more aggressiveness on behalf of players like Brittani Green and Andrea Roberson.

If those two, along with the remaining contributors, can become more productive, the Bulldogs will find that their single-game shooting percentage will no longer fall into the 20-percent range.

What was once a very promising start to the beginning of the season has turned into a now questionable postseason run for a team more talented than it’s playing.

Vandals

The Vandals are led by a freshman in Katie Madison, who scores more than 19 points per game, the best in the conference. Madison also averages nine rebounds a game.

Idaho is somewhat defensively challenged, especially when it comes to guarding Fresno State.

The Vandals allowed the Bulldogs’ season-high 84 points when the Bulldogs traveled to Moscow earlier in the year.

Since that meeting, the Vandals have won only one Western Athletic Conference game, a triple-overtime win against New Mexico State last week.

The only real chance the Vandals will have in the game is if the Bulldogs come up cold on the offensive end, something that is much less likely to happen at home in the Save Mart Center.

If the Vandals are to pull out a win in this game, Madison will have to go off for 25-plus while the Bulldogs shoot below 30-percent as a team.
