Drop Deadline

Students who need to drop a course for a serious or compelling reason may only do so through Tuesday, Nov. 21. After Nov. 21 students may only drop courses through a complete withdrawal for reasons beyond a student’s control. Students may only withdraw from their courses until Dec. 13.

Students who wish to drop a course by Tuesday, Nov. 21 must submit a drop card to the Admissions and Records Office. The drop card must be approved by the dean of the college and by the individual instructor.

Spam Filters

Individuals who use the Fresno State e-mail system should be experiencing fewer problems with spam and e-mail delays, following the set up of new IronPort spam filters.

As of Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Information Technology Staff reported that the IronPort filters were now rejecting as much as 80 percent of what is considered “obvious spam.” The new filters are supposed to lessen the burden of the older filters and allow actual mail to be delivered on schedule.

ITS hopes to continue to reduce the amount of spam with the additional filters and will conduct tests after the Thanksgiving break.
