Softball splits with La. Tech before rainout

The Fresno State women’s softball team defeated rival Louisiana Tech in a 5-3 victory Friday night.

Freshman Robin Mackin went 2-4 with two RBIs to collect her 24th win of the season.

She got helf from reliever Marryann Barr, who came into the third inning and pitched more than two innings before Mackin returned to the mound.

Fresno State took the lead early, scoring a run in the first inning before scoring twice more in the third.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Fresno State scored again on a wild pitch.

Louisiana Tech tied the game until the seventh, when Fresno State scored twice on RBIs for the win.

The series finale against the Techsters, slated for Saturday night, was rained out.

Fresno State is now 32-14 for the season.
