Five Bulldogs football players have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams while three more were drafted over the weekend by NFL teams.
Cornerback Richard Marshall (No. 54) was the second round pick of the Carolina Panthers, receiver Adam Jennings (No. 184) was picked up by Atlanta (No. 185) in the sixth round and safety Tyrone Culver went to the Green Bay packers the very next pick.
Following the draft, six more Bulldogs signed free agent contracts.
Defensive end Garrett McIntyre signed with the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks.
Running back Wendell Mathis signed with the Minnesota Vikings while fellow running back Bryson Sumlin went to the San Diego Chargers.
Receiver Jermaine Jamison joined the Kansas City Chiefs while quarterback Paul Pinegar signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Having this many players drafted and sign free agent contracts is a heck of an accomplishment,” head coach Pat Hill said in a press release announcing the signings. “It shows the caliber of players who have come through the program and what people in the NFL think of the Fresno State program.”
