’Dogs defense blindsides offense

The guys in the white jerseys took control from play number two and
on.
The nearly 3,500 who attended Fresno State’s annual spring scrimmage
saw a collection of bone-rattling hits and seven-person tackles.
After an opening run of 32 yards by the Bulldogs’ Dwayne Wright,
the defense settled in, rarely allowing a run longer than five yards
after that.
Wright had 7 carries for 46 yards.
The quarterback battle is proving to be competitive despite the struggles
of all three quarterbacks — Tom Brandstater, Sean Norton and Ryan
Colburn.
Brandstater finished the day 8 of 17 for 121 yards and one interception.
Norton went 7 for 13 for 140 yards and one touchdown while Colburn
completed 4 of 15 passes for 48 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Dwayne Andrews, Vincent Mays and Tyler Clutts were among the defensive
standouts for the Bulldogs.
