'Dog Bites

• Fresno State golfers swept the Western Athletic Conference golfer of the week awards.

Women’s golfer Laura Luethke and men’s golfer Ryan McDonald each earned the award.

A sophomore from Clovis, Calif., Luethke shot a final-round 70 in last week’s Spartan Invitational to win her fourth collegiate tournament title.

McDonald, a senior from Rocklin, Calif., led the Bulldogs at the Ashworth Invitational to finish 24th with a 7-over 220.

• The Fresno State softball team was rained out of its scheduled action Tuesday. The Bulldogs (16-9) have won six straight games and are ranked No. 23 in this week’s ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 poll.

Fresno State will resume action this week when they participate in the Judi Garman Classic.
