The Associated Students Finance Committee approved Thursday night 15 additional scholarships of $30 each to the original 30 scholarships for the attendance at Oct. 11 event “Culture and Community Building: Transformative Practices.”

The event is put on by the Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute Conference Grant.

The total allocation is $1,350.

Also, the committee unanimously approved $1,000 for funding for the Fresno Reads’ “Practices in Literacy Development” on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.

The committee will recommend to the AS at next week’s senate meeting to approve the remaining $100 requested by the organization.
