Fresno State reaches out to Katrina victims

Fresno State students and faculty are working to provide assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The California State University system is accommodating university students wishing to return to California as well as students displaced from Gulf Coast colleges.

We’ve already begun working with some students from the area and their families about how they can be accommodated at Fresno State.

Numerous campus student groups and the athletic department are organizing fund drives, and fraternities and sororities are also pitching in.

We are also completing plans with community agencies to collect food and water.

Fresno State will continue to do all it can to help.
