Women's water polo earns No. 1 seed

The Fresno State club women’s water polo team came away from Saturday’s Malibu regional with a clean sweep to claim the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Pacific Coast Division championship.
The Bulldogs, the nation’s No. 1-ranked team, opened Southern Regional play against host Pepperdine with a 15-1 win before beating UCLA 6-4 in the afternoon.
In a close evening matchup, Fresno State came out on top again with a 9-8 win over USC.
The PCD championship tournament is April 23 and 24 at USC. The Bulldogs open play against the eighth-seeded UC-Davis B-team. A potential rematch with fourth-seeded USC looms in the second round.
The division champions advance to the national tournament on May 5, 6 and 7 at Texas A&M.
The 18-member Fresno State team is looking for sponsors for its postseason plans.
