Walking the heavenly runway
Staff Report / The Collegian
Months after Jeffrey Simonian died from heart complications after a car
accident in December 2002, his sister, Amanda, started wearing a shirt
with “Simdog” imprinted on the front, in memory of Jeffrey.
Amanda immediately received positive feedbacks about the shirt. And that’s
how it all started. More than two years later and with support from the
community and retailers, including The Edge in Clovis, the name Simdog,
Jeffrey’s nickname, has increased in popularity.
This Friday, Simdog Apparel takes a giant step into the world of fashion
by having its own fashion show, which will take place Friday at 6:30 p.m.
in the Smittcamp Alumni House. The free event will showcase the latest
in women’s couture, from tank tops to scarf belts to mini-skirts
to underwear.
Partial proceeds of the show benefit the Jeffrey Simonian Memorial Scholarship
Foundation, which funds three scholarships at Clovis High. For more information,
call public relations director Krisse Mansfield at 824-8854 or designer
Amanda Simonian at 779-7840.
