Comedian stands up against alcoholism
Comedian Brian McGrenahan can make anything funny—even binge drinking.
“It’s pretty bad when your blood-alcohol level is higher than
your grade point average,” said McGrenahan in the Los Angeles’
Daily News in 2000.
But at the end of his comedy shows, he makes his audience stop laughing
and start thinking.
He will make his latest stop Tuesday at Fresno State, performing his “Happy
Hour with a Twist” program for Alcohol Awareness Week at the Save
Mart Center. He will speak at 7 p.m. This will be his third appearance
at the college.
McGrenahan have said most alcoholics will hit “rock bottom”
before they realize they have a problem.
McGrenahan, who started drinking at age 12, didn’t realize he had
a serious drinking problem until his brother committed suicide about 17
years ago.
Now he is sharing his experiences about alcohol to save the lives of college
students.
