Want to be a peer adviser at Fresno State? Here are the training dates

The Cross Cultural and Gender Center at Fresno State recently announced it is recruiting students to join the center’s volunteer ‘Peers Supporting Peers’ program for the fall semester.

According to Joury Robles, the graduate coordinator for LGBTQ+ services at the center, “The program was designed and created to provide student peers with tools in crisis management.” She said students have a choice of attending one of four training sessions in late August and early September.

Training sessions are currently scheduled for Friday, Aug. 24 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 7 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Interested students can call the center at 278-4435 for further information. Applications are currently being taken online at https://goo.gl/forms/uPqTKnOZKxKlttG13. The deadline to apply is July 20.
