Take Back the Night: Invisible Violence

Over 200 people gathered at the Fresno State Free Speech Area Wednesday, Oct. 19 to observe the 32nd annual Take Back the Night rally. The internationally celebrated event, presented by Women’s Alliance and the Women’s Resource Center, focused on the theme of “Invisible Violence,” which organizers described as “present in many romantic relationships where young women and men miss the red flags until it is too late.” Aside from including over a dozen informational and educational booths, the event featured a keynote speech from women’s studies instructor Melissa Knight and speeches, poems and songs from other students and community members. The event concluded with a candlelight vigil and march through the Fresno State campus.
