Update: Watney one back at the Players Championship
After holding a one-stroke lead after first-round play of the Players Championship, former Bulldog great Nick Watney is still very much in the hunt after shooting a 1-under 71 in round two.
Watney opened the day with a birdie on the second hole, but proceeded to bogey 4 and 7. On the back 9, Watney birdied the first two holes and pared out to finish the day 1-under.
Watney is just a stroke behind the leader David Toms, who sits at 10-under with consecutive rounds of 66 and 68. The Players Championship is virtually up for grabs with 22 players within five strokes of each other atop the leaderboard.
Tomorrow will be the third of four rounds at TPC Sawgrass and Watney will look to snag his second PGA tournament of the 2011 season. Below is the copy/paste link for up-to-date scores and stats from the Players Championship.
