The race for the Associated Students, Inc. president came to a close Friday morning, where Pedro Ramirez was announced president-elect in front of a crowd of nearly 30 people.

Ramirez, the current senator-at-large for parking and safety, won in a landslide victory garnering 38 percent of the total votes. Ramirez beat out current ASI Executive Vice President of Finance Alex Andreotti, Chief of Staff Cole Rojewski, and Sen. Cody Madsen. The newly elected president will take office June 1.

The votes were tallied Thursday by the League of Women Voters. The overall voter turnout was 1784, approximately 9.5 percent of the student population, according to Liz Shields of the league of Women Voters.
