Oh yes, I forgot...

The Trustees will be considering a proposal soon. The proposal: to charge MBA students at least $250 an unit, and possibly as high as $480 per unit.

If you haven't heard, the CSU system may be showing the door to students seeking multiple degrees. Second bachelors degree seekers are already banned (unless it's nursing or engineering) and undeclared post-bacc students won't be admitted. Bottom line--only one master's degree may be allowed, beginning either this academic year or in 2010/2011.

Yes, it is clear to see who the failure is. It is you. The 40 year old still in college and complaining about Fresno State being expensive. It is poor people like you who give Fresno State a bad name. I have never heard such an outrageous failure of a 40 year old still being in college. Just pathetic. If you aren't going to be at Fresno State when the increases take effect, what the heck are you complaining about idiot? The best option would have been for you to keep your worthless opinion to yourself, so that people who matter wouldn't be stuck seeing your moronic display of being an idiot on this page. Two graduate degrees within a two year span? Wow, I can tell those are worth something. HAHAHA.

I have no concept of the definition of true success? Wow. I didn't realize the 40 year old college student was a shining example of true success. What an idiotic statement. Maybe if you didn't have kids, you would be able to pay the cheap price to attend Fresno State. Nobody forced you to have kids. That was your own fault. I feel sorry for them having you as a mother. They should put themselves up for adoption or run away from home to escape living with worthless scum like you.

Patrick: Funny...I think just about anyone could figure out who the pathetic failure is in this conversation. It must be difficult to carry that 300 pound chip around on your shoulders. It sucks to be you...all that anger and bitterness. I may be forty, but you will die before me with all that poison in your system.

You obviously have no sense of the value of a dollar. You have no life experience and you must be living under a rock if you have never heard anyone express their opinion about wasteful spending. It is not my problem if morons like you can't figure out how to find a parking spot. And yes there are grad classes are also held during the peak hours of the day. My "whining" about the fee increase is about wasteful spending, you idiot! Apparently someone let you graduate even though you lack basis reading comprehension skills. You likely majored in something akin to underwater basketweaving.

How does this parking structure situation affect you? You don't mention being a current student. Yet you sadly spend your time cruising the college newspaper scoping out others you can attack to feel better about yourself. The fact is that I won't have to worry about the parking fee doubling because I will be finished with two graduate programs by then (all within a two year period....that is an accomplishment I am sure you are unable to recognize). I just feel for all of the other students constantly being financially screwed with the wasteful spending advocated by clueless, financially reckless people like you.

You have no concept of the definition of true success. Sadly it seems to be something you will not learn about unti you have some life experience. So, go back to your play pen and find some like minded two year old toddlers to play with. I am finished having my fun with you. You just keep having your toddler tantrum on your own because this pathetic conversation is over!

Umm..... negative on the having successful careers. I have never heard of someone who is successful in their career, start crying about a cheap increase in the fees to help build a parking structure for the benefit of literally 20,000+ students. The world doesn't revolve around you. The students as well as the administration at Fresno State obviously put your worthless opinion in the minority and essentially in the garbage bin. Thankfully.

You do realize that for the majority of undergraduate students, they have to take classes during the peak hours for parking right? They have no choice. They can't take classes at night, where all the morons who are 40 years old and barely getting a graduate degree are taking classes. Most people get their graduate degree before they reach 30. Hell, even those going through medical school, are done before 30. But, not even having a graduate degree by 40? I have never heard of such an outrageous failure. Don't blame others for your failure at life. It is your own fault.

Fresno State provides the most afforable education in the United States. Try going to a UC or a private school. You have nothing to complain about with this cheap increase. Maybe you should have already received your graduate degree 15 years ago like most people. What a failure.

Patrick: Wow, you seem really angry about life. It appears that you have some really serious issues...mainly your elitist attitude. You have a real penchant for criticizing people you know nothing about. Someone close to you must have made some pretty poor choices for you to be so pissed off. I am not taking any of your comments personally because I know all that anger is not about me, but it is about you. If you are so mature, maybe you should make a consciencious effort to get help.

For your information I am a forty year old graduate student. I have been happily married for fifteen years. We both have successful careers and unlike you, I decided to come back to school to learn new skills to make my community a better place. We made a conscious decision to have our precious children AFTER we finished our undergraduate degrees and had stable careers. We have both worked hard since before college. We both worked our way through school. The only assistance we received was in the form of scholarships earned by working hard academically as well.

It is interesting you are so willing to part with your hard earned money to pay all of the unneccesary additonal fees being tacked onto education. Are you really that charitable? Hard to believe. Maybe you were you just frustrated because you couldn't figure out how to find a parking place. I never said I couldn't afford school. It is simply about financial sensibility. Choosing Fresno State was based partially on reasonable fees. I personally don't want another penny of my money going to idiotic projects like unneeded parking structures regardless of how much money I make. My right to freedom of speech allows me to voice that opinion. You are also entitled to your opinion, but the personal attacks are a moronic display of immaturity.

I am flattered that you want to be pen pals, but if I was going to spend my time matching wit, I would choose a formidable opponent, perhaps someone who is able to crawl out of his playpen. So have a great summer and please work on the hatred and anger management.

c. cmauley: You said you have children and a husband. Ok. That is your problem. Why do you have children (multiple) if you are struggling to pay to attend Fresno State? That is exactly the poor life choices that I was referring to. That is totally 100% preventable. So should you get special treatment because you made the poor choice to have kids and are now suffering the consequences? That makes a lot of sense. Not. Did it ever occur to you that people decide to not have kids/get married until they are done with their education? That is what a responsible person would do and what millions of responsible people in college do all over the US every year. Maybe if you utilized some common sense you wouldn't be in the situation you are. Don't criticize others just because you are stuck for the rest of your life with constant reminders of the horrible judgements that ruined your life.

I worked year around and attended Fresno State thank you very much. I didn't get one cent of financial aid as I didn't qualify because I didn't live in a cardboard box. Your worthless tax dollars aren't even .000000000000000000000000000001% of what 99% of people have to pay in taxes as is evident by your whining about a cheap increase in the student fees for the betterment of the students which signals your low salary. You must be dirt poor. Just totally revolting and thankfully your opinion is irrelevant so that students who didn't make such terrible life choices can benefit from having the parking structure.

You said you have been at the top of your class since high school? What person who has been at the top of their class since high school lacks such basic common sense on a thing like not having kids or getting married until they are done with their education and are stable financially? You must have been home schooled, that is how you graduated at the top of your class. Haha. Just totally embarrassing the lack of common sense that you showed in your terrible life choices.

again, students were robbed and the methods used to "consult" with students are very questionable. i went to one of those student focus groups and they were "paying" students ten dollars for showing up. I walked out and refused the money. They couldnt buy me that easily but they did so to many other students. Lets hope students in 2012 have jobs that increases their wages along with the increasing education costs.

Patrick: You are most likely not even worth the five minutes take to respond to your nastiness. It seems you are just miserable; tearing others down to make yourself feel better. Be careful what you say...usually snarly remarks about others have more to do with what is going on inside of you than with anyone else. I'm sorry for you. It seems you have some serious self esteem issues. Lose the attitude and knock off the immature name calling...it will get you nowhere fast and I'm pretty sure you are embarrassing not only yourself, but your parents as well.

The gender discrimination suits have not been "taken care of" and they do affect the bottom line of the entire university's funding. I chose this university because of the AFFORDABILITY factor. Fees have continued to rise for almost everything. Those of us who do not qualify for financial aid and don't have mommy and daddy to pay are the students who are being priced out of the education market. We are the students who are working hard to pay for our own education in addition to paying taxes which allow the less fortunate access to education through financial aid. As for the parking structure, I personally do not see the need to raise fees again to build a parking structure that is not needed. I don't have problems finding parking because I am responsible enough, even as a commuter, to get myself to campus on time. Get to know the available parking on campus, and get out of bed early enough to arrive on campus before classes begin..you will be amazed to see open parking spaces.

Lastly, I have been at the top of my class since high school, and I have now come back to grad school as an adult. I had plenty of choices for school, but again I chose Fresno State because of AFFORDABILITY and proximity. I certainly would not be so selfish as to leave my children and husband behind, or expect them to relocate because I chose to come back to school to better myself by earning a graduate degree.

You conviniently didn't say how you are getting through school. If it was your own hard earned money paying for school, you would surely be a little more careful about how your money is spent. Your family must have made brilliant choices to be unscathed by the reccession and able to afford to send you to school ! Perhaps you don't have a clue about the sacrifices they make for you. Your choices, on the other hand, may be not so brilliant. If you think you are so much "above" the rest of the students at Fresno State, why are you here? If Fresno State is too cheap and ghetto for you; leave. Maybe you have no choice because you are not Ivy League material. Perhaps you do receive financial aid and should be thanking me and my family for our tax dollars that pay for your education.

You probably shouldn't knock working at McDonald's because having a job is better than not having one at all. Perhaps when (or if) you graduate, no longer have access to financial assistance of any type, and get lucky enough to find an entry level (yes, Patrick, I said entry level) job in this economy, you will grow up and realize what it is like to be a responsible contributing member of society. We can only hope. Think it over and good luck with the growing up thing.

Those of us who do not qualify for financial aid and don’t have mommy and daddy to pay are the students who are being priced out of the education market. We are the students who are working hard to pay for our own education in addition to paying taxes which allow the less fortunate access to education through financial aid. As for the parking structure, I personally do not see the need to raise fees again to build a parking structure that is not needed. I don’t have problems finding parking because I am responsible enough, even as a commuter, to get myself to campus on time.

You conviniently didn’t say how you are getting through school. If it was your own hard earned money paying for school, you would surely be a little more careful about how your money is spent. Your family must have made brilliant choices to be unscathed by the reccession and able to afford to send you to school ! Perhaps you don’t have a clue about the sacrifices they make for you. Your choices, on the other hand, may be not so brilliant. If you think you are so much “above” the rest of the students at Fresno State, why are you here? If Fresno State is too cheap and ghetto for you; leave. Maybe you have no choice because you are not Ivy League material. Perhaps you do receive financial aid and should be thanking me and my family for our tax dollars that pay for your education.

You probably shouldn’t knock working at McDonald’s because having a job is better than not having one at all.

Umm... How can anyone possibly complain about the cost to attend a CSU like Fresno State? It boggles the mind how such an affordable education can be complained about so much by some people. Give me a break! It isn't like attending an Ivy where I could see a few complaints being valid. $50,000 a year is a little bit expensive for some people.

The gender discrimination cases have absolutely nothing to do with trying to raise money for a parking structure you moron. Is building a parking structure a bad thing? How stupid can you get? Maybe people should just park in the middle of Bulldog Diamond or in the middle of the grapevines instead of improving the campus with more parking. Idiot.

If you can't even afford to attend Fresno State, your family must have made terrible choices that made them poor as dirt. That is their problem. If they wouldn't have made such terrible choices in their lives, maybe their family wouldn't have been such drains on society. Totally revolting.

Patrick: Sounds like either my family as working tax payers are footing your college education, or your parents are because unless you have been living under a rock, the economy stinks. Even middle class educated folks like us, who by the way have never worked at McDonald's or "dumpster dived," are tightening our financial belts as much a possible. I am happy for you that you don't have to worry about your finances....however you are managing that, but most others here are concerned about the continual increases in costs and other money wasted by the university. I suppose they have to pay for all of the gender discrimination cases somehow. I also hope you are not one of the hundreds of students being effected by the state budget mess with not getting your classes which postpones graduation. Then again, if financial aid or your mommy and daddy are paying everything, it must be a hoot for you to remain suspended in college for eternity.

Hyun: Get a real name before you think that your opinion actually matters. They parking increase is so cheap, people complaining must also think the 99 cent store is expensive. Attending Fresno State is cheaper than pretty much every other college in the nation. Shut up and quit whining. If you can't even afford to attend Fresno State, your parents must work at Mcdonalds and dumpster dive. Losers.

Just another ding to students. Seriously, how many people who have classes in the large buildings closer to the back of school, nearer the Save Mart center are going to use this large, assinine, ill placed parking garage? I'm guessing it will be a huge asset for athletic event parking. As for administration giving a darn about student opinion; think about it people. In almost every instance I have seen, they ask for it, then completely disregard it Remember the ASI fee hike debacle? Don't be fooled...they already have their minds made up. It is a psychological ploy to make students feel as though they have a say about what happens on our campus. Oh, and we must also thank the trustees for deciding yesterday to raise our fees by 10% effective this fall. Suppose it will make a difference whether or not students get their classes in order to graduate in a timely manner. Yes, even grad students are feeling that pain.

The reality is there is enough parking spaces! The only reason it seems as if there aren't enough is because they are far from most classes! Please people WAKE UP walk 5 extra minutes why are you handing out your money like this. YES you are handing it out ur letting them take the money out of your pocket because you don't stand up and say something. The survey was tainted. I know of many people including myself who wrote in against the idea. Please realize what these people are doing. The parking structure location is going to be far from classes too! So what's the point people are going to complain again. But as always it's too late to do anything or is it?
