Sports brief- Women’s tennis takes four straight
The No. 37 ranked women’s tennis team recorded its fourth win of the week with a win over Sacramento State on Sunday at the Wathen Tennis Center.
With the win, the Bulldogs earned its third win over a ranked team this week. Earlier in the week, the ’Dogs defeated unranked Penn, 7-0, No. 21 TCU, 6-1, No. 59 Arizona, 6-1 and No. 34 Sacramento State, 7-0.
Fresno State currently has the No. 1 doubles team in the nation with Anastasia Petukhova and Renata Kucerkova, and the No. 9 doubles team with Melanie Gloria and Tinesta Rowe.
Gloria is also ranked No. 14 nationally in singles play, while Petukhova is No. 25 and Kucerkova at No. 88.
The Bulldogs next match will be on Sat., when they travel to Berkley to take on Cal. The ’Dogs won’t return home until April 11.
