Collegian,
I was a participant in the Peach Blossom in the 4th grade and here I am 31 years old talking about it like it was just recent. I remember my group practicing and going in front of the entire school (Centerville Elementary in Sanger) one class at a time. This was my first experience being involved with any group performance because there was 4 of us involved in the poem. This was huge for me and I was always afraid to talk in front of the class but all the practicing and coaching paid off. One of the things I remember most was arrriving at Fresno State and being totally awed by the size of this place and seeing so many people. I saw a guy ride by on a skateboard and thought that was the coolest thing. He was riding his skateboard to class. Everything was different about this place. It was a little scary luckily we had a parent guide us that was a Fresno State Alum. I remeber we went to the food court and had a pretzel with cheese. Wow what a treat. Our group performance was a huge success and most of all it was so much fun. Keep the festival going because so many good memories are created, friendships are made, and the kids confidence in themselves grows becasue of this event. The Peach Blossom is worth all the work everyone puts into it.
