WEB-SPE@K: Do you feel safe on campus?
By Collegian Staff | February 27, 2009
Is it important for students to have regular access to campus crime records? Is a constant source of this information important for students’ safety?

I don’t feel safe on campus when my state tax dollars go for programs like CAMP that assist illegal immigrant students and provide services that shouldn’t even exist.
In terms of my physical safety the campus is well guarded—-the threat to freedom of speech posed by groups like MECHA, the Muslim Student Alliance, and other fascist and left wing clubs is more of a concern
actually Cockburner, youre misinformed. CAMP is not a program for illegal immigrants, it is for students of LEGAL farmworker families. And about the groups you dont like on campus, if you dont like them you should do something about it, but then again you dont pay ever single tak dollar that exists, we all pay a small portion. Im fine with my tax dollars going to Muslim students and anyone else so long as they arent hating on other groups which is what your doing.
Oh and dont come back on here with some awkward responses.
Bucket fan? Are you trying to supress free speech because it has conservative underpinnings? You could run for office in California on the democratic ticket!
Hey Bucket, there is no constitutional violation if a private citizen suppresses speech he/she does not like as long as the government does not participate–the only entity that can violate “freedom of speech” is the government. This was laid out in a lawsuit against a casino in Las Vegas several years ago. The casino removed employees picketing for union representation from what was thought to be the public sidewalk in front of the casino. Turned out the sidewalk was privately owned. The court held that a private business or individual could not be liable for constitutional violations, only the government.
hmmm ok whatever you want to say……my point is that Cockburner is mad saying that there is a program on campus that supports illegal immigrants which is incorrect they do not suport illegal immigrants. My other point was that cockbeaner doesnt pay ALL the taxes so i am ok with some of those taxes going to gorups that cockburger considers as illegal or hate groups.
If on the other hand cocklover doesnt like those groups then do something about it rather than complain.
enuff said
you’re childish antics are kind of lame if you are indeed a college student. — no tax money should be going to hate groups like MECHA that operate on the CSU Fresno campus.
like i said….if that is what you believe then do something about it you cry baby.
end of convo.
Did anyone answer the actual question asked? Just checking….
I feel safe
I often at school until dark and I feel safe walking to my car at night. No problem at all… yet.
By the way, some of the previous posers should take their Critical Thinking course before posting such illogical thing on here.
Gosh dang it. Y’all got to redo your English classes and fix those damn grammars.
Yes, I feel safe. I do not feel safe when an individual person shows so much hate. Grow up, you are in a university setting. Please do your research when pointing out programs and organizations that support the role of higher education. There needs to be diversity at the university level, not just at the community level. Like it or not, California is a diverse state, what a beauty. May I suggest moving to the mountains like 100 miles east in HW 180;) Seems like your racist mentality little cockburner is uncalled for, in the past it was the African Americans and Native American Indians that were not wnated at the university level. But now it seems like the Latino population, who is a majority of the population in many towns in California are not wanted at a professional level and university level. Lets just work together and leave all ignant comments at home. Peace.
