I know it was a mistake to add lacrosse to the Fresno State athletic line-up.

Kudos to Fresno State for staying true to Title IX and taking the opportunity to add women’s lacrosse to the athletic program at the school. The administrators need to be commended for jumping on board with this upcoming, exciting and fast paced womens’ sport. Lets all remember there is a reason for Title IX – that is to give women equal opportunity to play college level sports. Good luck to those hard working lacrosse players and their dedicated coaches! Its apparent you have ALL taken this opportunity extremely serious, worked long, hard hours and have dedicated yourselves to the sport. You will make Fresno State proud, no doubt!
Dixon, many had never played lacrosse in their lives. Why do they get the automatic chance for a college scholarship while a worthy high school wrestling state champ or male volleyball all-league player can’t earn his way to a college scholarship for his hometown Bulldogs? I’ll tell you—-basically it has to do with Fresno State’s 60-65% female student population. We are forced to allocate money proportionally 2/3 to female programs—rather than 50/50—– which is b.s. if you ask me. What happened to that notion of equality.

Charles “in charge”),
I am really happy that you are not in charge. I sympathize with your feelings but your conclusion is really B.S. (your term)
Go lacrosse girls!
