Students tell The Collegian Online what programs they would cut from Fresno State’s annual budget in order to meet state-mandated budget reductions.

    Cut unnecessary athletics expenses that are covered by state and student funds. There is way too much money and resources going to the benefit of such a small portion of the campus’s students.

    I’ll tell you exactly what to cut. The school should stop accepting people who can’t even string together sentences like the one’s interviewed. That would save a lot of money. Raise the GPA requirement to 3.5 so people have to do a little work to get in. The campus would be so much better.

    And before you whine about everyone should have the opportunity for college, just remember that there are also community colleges out there…

    We said it last spring when we fought against the IRA increase and we’ll say it again:
    take the cuts from athletics, Hill doesn’t deserve $1.5 million, give up our Division I status, we can’t afford it, listen to the students!
