Making art outside

With no easel at his disposal, senior art major Rudy Castillo, right, uses a small tree to hold up his canvas on Wednesday.
“I don’t paint or draw,” Castillo said. “This painting is horrible.”
The painting was of senior kinesiology major Shayne Shiomi, left, who patiently sat in the Allen Lew Memorial Grove so Castillo could have a subject for his portrait assignment. Castillo is a sculptor and photographer.
