It seems to me you’re all missing the point of the article. The writer set it up as a Q and A with the two mayoral nominees. Maybe you should poke fun at who the nominees were and/or what they had to say, rather than how the article was written or who it was written by.

From what i heard Welty might (might) consider that whole friends of fresno state report that came out where they are suppose to focus on more academics….apparently welty and our lame administration and asi government forgot the most important memo when coming to this campus….its about academics, isnt it sad someone off campus had to remind them the whole purpose in this campus being built was for?

Personally, I think this article sucks. Iceman7 is right. Fresno is a trash town and it definitely isn’t the best university on the planet. FSU needs to wake up and quit focusing so much on the loser football team and put more into their academic programs…maybe then they could have decent reporters.

Montana- I’ve taken pleanty of journalism courses, thank you very much. I also do not live in a “bizarro world.” Just because YOU or anyone else thinks Fresno stinks, doesn’t mean that it does. If you’re so worried about your student fees and how that corilates with The Collegian, stop reading it and move to another city.

Wow…IceMane7, you’re an idiot. If you have something better to say in The Collegian why aren’t you writing for it? The article was simply stating that, if you are planning to vote in this election, here are your choices. Fresno is a wonderful city, maybe not one of the most entertaining or one of the most classy, but its on the map and has so much to offer the San Joaquin Valley. Grow up.

Dude, that’s harsh. I don’t wanna stay here for the rest of my life, but as long as I’m here, I can’t help but be a little concerned for what goes on around me. Maybe Fresno is trash compared to other cities. Maybe Fresno State isn’t the greatest university on the planet. But look at it from a journalist’s perspective. What would you rather them report on? The platform for the mayor of New York City? Obviously some people care. Some people are actually voting in this election, particularly for things that are relevant to their immediate environment. I’m guessing you’re not one of those people. I don’t know, I could be wrong. Maybe you don’t even live in Fresno, in which case I take it all back.

who cares? Many of us attend Fresno State and want nothing to do with the actual city. Fresno is trash and why is the Collegian wasting our time reporting on this? We are a state university, not part of any Fresno school district although it sometimes seems that way.
