LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Campus evangelists not models of Jesus
I would like to apologize to anyone who has been or felt verbally assaulted by the preachers that have been in the free speech area the past few weeks. As a Christian myself, I do not feel they are representing God or Christians in general well.
After hearing the preachers call people “idiots” and scream that people are going to hell, I can definitely see where non-Christians might get the idea that God hates them.
That, however, is not the case.
When Jesus was on the earth, did he yell at the tax collectors and prostitutes and push them away? No, he ate with them in their homes, something that upset the Jewish religious leaders.
Jesus told his followers to show love to everyone, regardless of how they looked or talked or what they believed.
Jesus said the second most important commandment (behind “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”—Mark 12:29-31) was to “love your neighbor as yourself.”
I hope I speak for most of Christ-followers on the Fresno State campus in saying sorry for the disturbance these people have been.

Soon they will realize that they are not reaching anyone with their messages or methods of spreading them anyway. Hopefully they will soon get the message and either leave the area or yeah they should just leave the are.

This guy has been preaching for years what makes anyone of you think he will leave soon. He has been here at least five years before I started my freshman year in 1999. I have long since been gone but once in a while i venture on to campus and am still amaze at the energy he still puts in it everyday.
The problem with this guy is he starts to pick on people. I am just waiting for one day when some one knocks his brains out. Probably wont happen because most people ignore him.

these preachers are the ones going to hell. look at the way they are lying to people just to get thier money. these preachers regardless what religion it is , they are all taught evolution when going to school to be a preacher. they know that it is true. and that god is a huge lie. but it is like sex, it is pushed because it sells. they are in it for the money. these fools are not out to save no one. only to line their own pockets. religion sells and makes them money. they are not interested in saving any one. its just money. god is the biggest joke on the planet. and these fools who beleive in it. deserve to be taken
