Crushed: Fresno State fans expect an upset, but in the end are just upset.

Saturday night’s game kicked off with a lot of energy that ultimately turned to disappointment when the ’Dogs lost to Wisconsin by three points.

Painted faces and elaborate signs were in full force. Students crowded into the stadium — a sea of red. The only thing that stood out from the crowd were security guards ambling in their bright yellow gloves.

Excitement grew as the Bulldogs crowded into the tent before running out of the tunnel of smoke onto the field. The Fresno State marching band hyped up the crowd while people danced in the rows to the ever-familiar tunes.

Fans roared and the students started the “wave” that traveled the length of the stadium.

With 1:44 left in the game, Bulldogs were close behind the Wisconsin Badgers 13-10. Excitement turned to tension. Fresno State came so close to beating Wisconsin, but in the end, Wisconsin came out with the win. Disappointment was on most faces. “I hate losing,” a fan said as he walked out of the stadium.
