Dr. Sharon Brown-Welty, wife of Fresno State President John D. Welty, has withdrawn her application for the position of Dean of Education and Integrated Studies at Cal Poly Pomona. She had been one of four finalists interviewed for the position earlier this summer.

Dr. Brown-Welty indicated that due to the length of the search and the fact that the new semester is about to begin at Fresno State, she feels a strong commitment to her students at Fresno State and to the university.

“I look forward to continuing my work with the development of Fresno State’s independent doctoral program in educational leadership,” she said.

Dr. Brown-Welty is director of Fresno State’s Doctorate in Educational leadership program.
