Bulldogs fly high in Snow Warz
More then 40 teams from 33 colleges and competed in Snow Warz, a ski and snowboard competition for colleges all over the West Coast. It was held at Northstar at Lake Tahoe, a resort near Truckee, Calif. on Saturday, April 12, 2008.
Adam Roche, pictured above during his first run, is the president of the Fresno State Ski and Snowboard Club. Darren Tuttle, pictured left, is catching some air on his second run of the day. Crashes were not rare on a day reaching temperatures in the high 60s.
As the temperature rose in the afternoon, the snow melted and got slushy, slowing down riders and causing them to come up short on many of the jumps.
Fresno State competed with 48 teams from 33 schools, with 233 competitors overall. Fresno State came in third in the first heat, just missing the finals. The top two teams from each of the five heats moved onto the finals.
