Because of this book, a collection of portraits has been collected in a small northwest Kansas community bank. An election year sure fires up a little publicity and a few more visits from tourists. The man who created this gallery was inspired by Irving Stone's book and titled it so the "They Also Ran" gallery. I have not finished the book itself, just recently purchasing it as a display item, so I cannot comment on history repeating itself at this time. I have only made it through the Horace Greeley entry which is special to our collection. Thank you for touching on the book.

The Collegian Staff Comment
Future Squirrel Stuffer

Note: Wikipedia "recommendation."

From the sparse description on Wikipedia, I independently sought out information on my own time, critically considering the information in that book, weighted by how little I could find on the book in JSTOR.

I don't think the gods of academia would strike me down with lightning bolts for that use of Wikipedia. It isn't like I cited the site.
