The bulldogs may look at joining the MPSF league alongside the four California schools mentioned (cal, stanford, uc davis, and st. mary's) along wtih denver, and oregon. Lacrosse is a very entertaining sport that many people on the West Coast know little about. Gradually though, it is becoming more popular over here and I am glad to hear that Fresno will be having a team. I think you should give Women’s Lax a chance. She wasn't an athlete, but she really enjoyed LaCrosse. Go figure. Sounds like the need to be compliant and the new soccer field just made it easy to throw LaCrosse in the mix. Actually, it is a resurrected sport of late in the North Valley area, so somebody might have their pulse on that action. Makes good sense to utilize your current facility in this way, and bringing back diving is huge, too. My mom played LaCrosse at UCLA…in 1950. She wasn’t an athlete, but she really enjoyed LaCrosse. They won a club national championship and the valley definitely supports their water sports... However, as someone who as watched and played lacrosse, it is a good sport. It's catching on in northern california and the new soccer stadium just makes too much sense to combine the efforts. give lacrosse a chance and hopefully water polo is close to getting back in the next couple of years. Establishing women's water polo would not be as cheaply done as you think. The North Gym pool doesn't meet NCAA field of play requirements, which means playing/practicing off campus. Pool time won't be free. And, Fresno State was already planning to build a women's soccer field east of Bulldog Stadium, which is where the lacrosse team would also play. Some errors with this piece.
