And, Whatever by "the state" you are referring to the geographic plot of land called California?

Taxpayers----many of which are students----support the system. Why shouldn't taxpayers and students (who pay twice into the system for their education) have some say in where money goes?

YOUR fees this, YOUR fees that.

Public education is the most subsidized thing around. Where do you think property taxes go?

Get over yourself. It's expensive for us non-working freeloaders, but your fees are meager compared to what the state pays. You think our tuition pays to run the whole university?

And you can be darn sure most of the state, and the city, doesn't give a crap about Fresno State or its students.

I find it funny that we pay an academic counseling fee. I have had a meeting to discuss a DARS report with an academic advisor exactly once----it was some social work grad student who knew nothing about my program or any other hard science academic path. If we had full-time advisors, that would be one a totally different story.
I don't like that my funds are going to things like CAMP or Migrant Student Services----why should my student fees go to supporting programs created for undocumented students?

You said it, Mako. Why didn't The Collegian show how much international students pay?
The TOTAL fee for 7+ units that resident students pay ($1,649.50) equals the registration fee alone for international students. That doesn't include our tuition fee of $339/unit and other fees.
To top it off, international undergraduates need a minimum of 12 units and graduates need 6 units to stay in school. The average international student will pay at least twice the amount of tuition for the same amount of benefits.

International studen'ts are paying much money than domestic students. However, Fresno state does not offer any of scholarship programs for the students. We, international students, are helping or supporting the Fresno state's finance. I hope that this school uses our tuition fees right way for everybody else, not only for domestic students, but also international studens....
