Lot V parking to reopen October 1, 2007
On Monday, October 1st, Lot V which is located just west of the Save Mart Center will reopen for general/student parking.
The solar photovoltaic single level parking structure project is now complete after much anticipation. 717 stalls on Lot V are designated as general/student parking and, once functioning, 43 stalls are designated as 10-hour metered parking. As always, faculty/staff with current parking tags are permitted to park on Lot V.
The three northern-most covered structures on Lot V are designated as premium reserved parking. Premium reserved is a new category of parking on the Fresno State campus which assigns a parking stall to you 24 hours per day/7 days per week and is available to faculty/staff that purchase a special permit tag for $50 per month.
Traffic control will be posted to direct motorists to available parking.
The renovation of the lot surface has transformed the lot to increase the number of parking spaces and eliminate temporary parking. The ten structures will cover 680 stalls and will convert the sun?s energy into 1 megawatt of electricity, which will generate 20 percent of the University?s power needs.
For further information regarding parking at Fresno State you may contact Amy Armstrong at 278-6709.
For further information regarding the new Premium Reserved Parking you may contact Tom Gaffery at 278-8642.
A grand opening ceremony will be announced soon.

Now we have a parking ‘class system’ on campus? “Premium Reserved”? What is that? How about a simple concept for the powers that are: If you pay for a parking permit, you can park on campus. Wow!!! Get rid off all of this metered parking, Save Mart Center only before 3pm, regulations on student parking during sporting events, and especially reserving three full rows for the elite professors who want to fork over an extra $50 a month. ——-The whole structure of permits and allowable time limits for students to park in designated areas in an outrage.
Where is all of this extra revenue going? Why is all campus parking still single level?
