The only result of this band is that they will do heavy drinking right before the game. I'm not saying that everyone will do this but the ones that where causing the problems will. The others that consumed alcohol during the game and were responsible are not only getting punished for this but will more than likely drink before the game to get a buzz at least. Another thing is that now you will have people taking alcohol in, which will more than likely be liquor not beer. Students will drink regardless of whether or not they sell it at the games. And the article should also mention that security staff in the stadium now look the other way on cigarette and cigar smoking inside the seating areas. So a zero tolerance policy with regard to having a nice frosty beer: A face full of second hand smoke, on the other hand, is perfectly acceptable. It would be interesting to see a follow up on how moving the student section from directly behind the visiting sideline has changed the game atmosphere.
