•Hawaii 45, Louisiana Tech 44
In the WAC’s first conference game of the season, Hawaii defeated Louisiana Tech 45-44 in a nail-biter Saturday night in Ruston, LA.
•Idaho 20, Cal Poly 13
Idaho’s Deonte Jackson rushed for 214 yards and a touchdown in the Vandals’ 20-13 win over Cal Poly. It was the best rushing performance by a freshman in school history.
•Boise State 10, Washington 24
Red-shirt freshman Jake Locker threw for one score and ran for another. Washington held No. 22 Boise State scoreless in the second half of a 24-10 victory Saturday, ending the longest winning streak in college football at 14 games.
•Utah State 18, Wyoming 32
For the second straight week Utah State’s football team was unable to hold a fourth quarter lead against a Mountain West Conference opponent as it lost at Wyoming, 32-18, Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.
•Nevada 31, Northwestern 36
C.J. Bacher threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to a diving Ross Lane with 21 seconds left Saturday to cap a frenzied six-play 80-yard drive as Northwestern rallied for a 36-31 victory over Nevada.
•San Jose State 14,
Kansas State 34
The Spartans continued to struggle offensively. Quarterback Adam Tafralis suffered an injury to his shoulder but stated he will be ready for their game against Stanford.
•New Mexico State 34,
New Mexico 44
Chase Holbrook was 47-of-63 for 473 yards passing and four TDs for New Mexico State (1-1).
