More than 150,000 photos donated to Madden Library

Thirty years of Fresno area history will be preserved thanks to a recent photographic archive donation to the Henry Madden Library.

More than 150,000 photos were given to the Special Collections Library by community photography and attorney Howard Watkins.

The donation includes photographs of many community events such as political rallies and parades. The archive is a “Who’s Whoâ€? of community leaders including judiciaries, athletes and celebrities.

According to a recording at the Special Collections desk, people will only have access to special collections and the political archive by appointment. For more information, please contact head of the Madden Special Collections Library Tammy Lau at 278-2595.
